Amanuel Zarzowski
Studying music composition and computer music in Poland and Germany, Zarzowski gained opportunities to compose various works for ensembles, soloists, and organizations. In early 2003, he became a pupil of Maestro Elliott Carter during a contemporary composition master class in New York City. In 2008, Zarzowski was commissioned to write a 15-minute piece, titled “Nunc Licet,” for Cello, Violin, Piano, and Electronics, by the San Diego UHA Arts Festival in San Diego, California. In November of the same year, Zarzowski was also invited to participate in the music composition master class provided by the Budapest Academy in Hungary. There, he was commissioned to write “s-Hertogenbosch” for Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Clarinet, and Flute for the Contemporary Classical Almere Dutch Sextet. In September 2009, the Hispanic Theatre of San Diego and its founder, Jesus Sierra Oliva, commissioned “Songs & Arias” for La Divina, an opera celebrating the American-born Greek soprano Maria Callas. Zarzowski has been collaborating with modern dance choreographers and schools in Poland since 2008. In 2009, Zarzowski was invited to write music for a major studio in Los Angeles, where he composes for commercial projects, gaining experience in music for television and film. In 2014, Zarzowski was invited to serve as the Composer in Residence for a concert series called STEIN 2.0, where he currently premieres original works. In 2015, Zarzowski was offered the position of Artistic Director of the non-profit organization STEIN 2.0.
